Sorry Jody, I couldn't figure out where these comments were coming from. I got email notices but have never received comments on the recipage before, just the posts and could not figure it out.

So on your question. No this will not firm up like caramel because it does not have the additives that harden after cooking like high fructose corn syrup.
It's basically watered down dates. I have seen recipes that use something similar to "sugar" nuts that once coated are baked but not sure what that would do with popcorn. Can you bake cooked popcorn? It's sort of out of the realm of raw so I can't answer better. Sorry.

does this firm up like regular caramel? I was wondering if I make caramel popcorn.. would I need to bake it or not? Thanks
